PRESIDENT
Don Foote
donfoote@southforkice.com

Don has more than 25 years experience in emergency response. Don was a wildland fire fighter during the 1988 Yellowstone National Park fires. Don is a past member of the Cody, Wyoming Volunteer Fire Department and Park County Search & Rescue. Don is a seasonal Law Enforcement Ranger for the National Park Service where he participates in many emergency positions on a regular basis including assorted fire, EMS and SAR operations. Don is cross-trained in all levels of NIMS and ICS with a general focus and primary duty of park protection. In the off seasons Don lives in Cody, Wyoming with his family and spends the winter as an EMT with West Park Hospital / Cody Ambulance. Don uses his spare time to volunteer with ski patrol at three ski areas in Wyoming and one in southern Montana where he is an instructor for the National Ski Patrol. Every February during President’s Day weekend Don coordinates the Southfork Ice Festival annual “Waterfall Ice” where hundreds of ice climbers merge to the south fork valley in Cody. Don continues to offer ropes, knots and rigging classes all across the region as he also represents the American Alpine Club as the state chairman. Don has a small retail shop where he sells equipment from many fine companies in mountaineering and rescue gear. Most importantly, Don finds family time with his wife and climbing partner Suzi and daughters Anna (8) and Issie (6). Don is very proud to return to an officer position for WYSARA, as he was formerly the vice president in 2005-2007. Now as the WYSARA President for 2010 Don hopes that you will see a difference the group will offer the state of Wyoming.

Thank you all for this opportunity, I look forward to working with you all.
